Why Choose the GESEA Educational Platform?

In gynaecological endoscopy, excellence is not a coincidence — it is the result of structured education, technical preparation, and fair assessment. This is the mission of the GESEA Programme (Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment): to guide surgeons from foundational knowledge to surgical competence through a progressive, internationally recognised training path.

Why GESEA?

Endoscopic surgery demands more than theoretical knowledge. It requires a blend of psychomotor skills and surgical expertise. At GESEA, we believe that psychomotor training must come first — in a safe and controlled environment — before entering the operating room. This:

  • Increases patient safety

  • Enhances educational efficiency

  • Improves the surgeon’s technical performance

GESEA offers all of this through a certified, multi-level training system.

The Structure of the GESEA Programme

The GESEA Educational Programme consists of three progressive levels, with optional specialisations in robotics and advanced surgery.

🔹 Level 1 – Psychomotor Skills Assessment Certificate

This is the universal entry gate to the GESEA pathway. Candidates train and are evaluated in:

  • Laparoscopy (LASTT)

  • Laparoscopic suturing (SUTT)

  • Hysteroscopy (HYSTT)

Theoretical knowledge is acquired through the ESGE Academy and tested with online quizzes.

🔹 Level 2 – Surgical Skills Assessment Diploma

After completing Level 1, candidates move into one of two core pathways:

  • GESEA MIGS → Become a Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgeon

  • GESEA ECRES → Become a Reproductive Endoscopic Surgeon

Each pathway includes both shared and specific training modules. An optional GESEA Robotics Certificate is also available at this stage.

🔹 Expert Level – Advanced Surgical Competence

For surgeons seeking subspecialised excellence, the GESEA programme offers Expert Diplomas in:

  • Oncology

  • Urogynaecology

  • Neuropelveology

  • Endometriosis

  • Hysteroscopy

  • Reproductive Surgery

These diplomas are awarded based on the assessment of standardised surgical procedures by qualified evaluators.

What Kind of Surgeon Do You Want to Become?

At GESEA, you can choose your professional path based on your career goals:

  • 🟦 GESEA MIGS

Become a certified Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgeon

  • 🟩 GESEA ECRES

Become a certified Reproductive Endoscopic Surgeon

  • 🟪 GESEA ROBOTICS (optional)

Enhance your skills as a Gynaecological Robotics Surgeon

Wherever your path leads, the GESEA platform ensures your training is rigorous, certified, and aligned with European standards of surgical excellence.
